The Start

The Start
3/31/25, 10:00 PM
This is the start of my journey transitioning into an independent hair stylist.
It’s 7:43 am and it is my last day at Salon by Yoo. I am excited to announce that I will be going off into the world on my own and operating out of Salon Allure. As of now, I am excited, anxious, fearful, hopeful… pretty much all the feels all at once.
I am excited. That much is true. But I’m also a little sad. As I prepare to run off into the wild, I get front row tickets to watch the team I will no longer be a part of shift and regroup. New team members. Opportunities for an actual education team? New talent. All very exciting things that I won’t be there for.
And I’m sad. I got to know these people and have taken them in as family. And like most families, there was the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’m okay for taking that as it is. Even when it wasn’t perfect, it was still beautiful.
Amidst the bitter sweetness of it all, while I let my anxiety eat away at me, I had two clients text me.
“Thank you for my hair! Everyone is saying the layers and color look so good 🖤🖤🖤
You’re my stylist forever”
“Showered and put my clay in. Absolutely amazing!”
Just a friendly reminder from the universe, and the wonderful clients that support me, that I am on the right path.
